Bliss Balls
Looking for a delicious and healthy snack to indulge in throughout your summer days? You came to the right place! These balls only require a few ingredients and take little-to-no time to make. After trying these beauties, you will never buy a store bought bar or snack, especially when you can make this at home yourself.
I traditionally eat a few Lara Bars a week and noticed that the bars only contained a few ingredients so I wanted to see if I wanted to recreate them in a beautiful way. Also, @chefokayoliver on instagram recently hit 10,000 followers, and quickly en route to 11,000!! I cannot thank all of you for all the support, something that started as a hobby is now a passion.
I always try to take time out of my work and school schedule to create amazing and delicious recipes for you, and I promise to continue trying to cook/bale whenever free time comes up. This is one of those amazing recipes that I tried for fun at home, and realized that I HAD to share with you because it was so good and easy to prepare.
Bliss Balls
yields: 2 dozen prep time: 10 minutes cook time: n/a
Ingredients:
12 dates, pitted
3/4 tsp coconut oil
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/3 cup shredded coconut, toasted
1/4 cup coconut sugar
1/4 cup pomegranate
2 tblsp. beetroot powder
2 tblsp. sugar
Directions:
Using a food processor, mix: dates, coconut oil, cashews, coconut, coconut sugar, and pomegranate until well blended. Add more coconut oil if necessary, but be cautious not making the mixture too oily.
Use palm of your hands to form balls from the dough, use whatever size that you desire.
Optional: In a bowl, combine beetroot powder and sugar and roll your bliss balls into them. Whether you like beets or not, this would be a great touch!
You're only a few ingredients away from amazing snacks that will turn your day from nay to yay. Also, feel free to substitute the coconut/pomegranate to banana/chocolate (or whatever combination you would like.)
You're welcome, bon appétit!
Xoxo
Oliver
