Blondies

If you keep up with my personal life you'd know that I have been crushing on a specific blondie for a while now, but for now, we'll save the love story for later and we'll talk food now.

Blondies are rich and sweet dessert bars that are similar and have the consistency of brownies. You are simply substituting vanilla instead of the cocoa used in brownies, and adding a whole bunch of toppings to make it your new favorite dessert.

This was my first time making a blondie, and I have fallen in love. It's such a simple recipe that will reward your taste buds with ooey gooey bites from dessert heaven.

Before baking, the consistency of your blondie mixture should be a happy spot between a brownie batter and a cookie dough. Whenever you place the mixture in the pan, it is important to evenly spread your ingredients. Also allow plenty of cooling time, if you're impatient like yours truly, half of your finish product will end up on the floor.

I unfortunately didn't take many pictures thinking that I wasn't going to love the recipe, but I was full of blondies that whole week, waking up each day excited to have an another (yes, I limited myself to one a day otherwise all of them would've been gone and I would go up a pant size.)

Blondies

yields: 1 dozen bars(depends on slicing) prep time: 5 minutes cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (dark, white, semisweet)

  • 3/4 cup walnuts (any nut works)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a deep pan with parchment paper and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

  2. In a bowl, mix the butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Gradually add flour in, followed by the chocolate and nuts, and mix until well combined.

  3. Spread mixture in pan and bake for about 20-25 minutes, the blondies will be done when the edges are golden, and a toothpick can come out clean when placed in the center.

  4. Allow to rest in the pan for at least 20 minutes before removing and slicing... this is important or it'll break everywhere (happened to me lol) but, other than that, bon appéit!

Blondies so good a warning sign should be included, so here it is...

Warning: These blondies will be the best things you've ever eaten and you might get addicted which may lead to eternally happy tastebuds and a great life.

You're welcome, bon appétit!

xoxo
