Garlic Rosemary Sweet Potato Chips
Crunch on these homemade delicious crisps, they are a perfect snack for any time of the year. I can't think of anything better than to make your homemade, healthy, and very yummy snack. The inspiration from this dish/snack is me being sick of the amount of oil that exists is brand named sweet potato chips, or any chip for that matter. So I wanted to do some research, and see how easy it is to make some homemade chips.
The results, as you see, are not only easy on the eyes but really satisfy any craving you may have. This is the first savory"snack"recipe that I have made on Cooking with Oliver, and it's an easy but flavorful one. You don't have to limit yourself to have these bad boys alone, but also top your soups with them! The opportunities are endless when it comes to these amazing little bites.
When it comes to slicing the sweet potato, I used my peeler to insure a thin cut. Feel free to use your knife or a processor that will ensure even layers for even baking. Also I recommend that you get creative with your seasoning, I didn't have any handy but sea salt would've definitely helped bring out some flavors in the sweet potato.
You can definitely use regular potatoes for this recipe, but I recommend that you enjoy these fall/winter flavors while you can, spring and summer will be here before you know it. Until then, enjoy these warm bright tones of fall because you will miss them when it is 92 degrees outside and the humidity level is at 100%.
Garlic Rosemary Sweet Potato Chips
yields: 3 servings prep time: 5 minutes cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
4 sweet potatoes, thinly sliced
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tblsp. olive oil
3 tsp. rosemary
garlic powder
salt & pepper
Directions:
While you are slicing the potatoes, allow the garlic and rosemary to sit in the olive oil so that it absorbs the flavors.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix the sliced sweet potatoes with salt, pepper, garlic powder and the olive oil mixture, adding little by little so there isn't too much oil.
When all the slices are covered, evenly spread on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the chips to fully cool on the baking sheet, this will help making them crispier.
The easiest, fastest, healthiest and most delicious snack that has come out of your oven! So proud that you were able to do it yourself.
You're welcome, bon appétit!
Xoxo
